If you resize the sidebar in an Open or Save dialog, Default Folder X will make sure it bounces back to that size the next time you use the same file dialog. The sidebar still bounces back to its narrow, “I can’t read the names of my folders” width of about 100 pixels every second time you use an Open or Save dialog. Default Folder X 5.5.4 brought a fix for this – forcing the dialogs back to your preferred, larger size whenever they came up.įast forward to Big Sur 11.2, and Apple has fixed the bug so dialogs now stay larger once you resize them – yay! 1/22/2024 0 Comments Best book to learn java script![]() People who read this book will walk away with an understanding of what JavaScript does very well, and the tasks for which a different programming language might be more suitable. Instead of teaching JavaScript as an independent language, this book examines the best parts of JavaScript as well as its weaknesses. Written by Douglas Crockford, this book is appreciated by programmers who have at least a basic knowledge of JavaScript. This text is also linked to online examples that allow programmers to test their coding skills. "JavaScript and JQuery" is intended to be used by students with little or no computer programming background, teaching the very basics of the language and moving students from a beginning to an intermediate level. Both volumes are commonly used in college-level introductory programming courses. This book, by Jon Duckett, is a companion to his book "HTML and CSS: Design and Build Websites". JavaScript and JQuery: Interactive Front-End Web Development This article will look at five of the best books to learn JavaScript programming. Many different texts are available, including PHP books and Javascript books. Yet some people still prefer to read their lessons in a book. There are scores of amateur and professional coding instructional videos. There are interactive teaching websites and online classes. If you are interested in learning computer programming, whether you want to learn PHP, JavaScript or any of the many coding languages, there are abundant resources to choose from. 1/22/2024 0 Comments Free for ios download BuhoCleaner![]() Click the Erase iPhone button, and enter your Apple ID password to turn off Find My.At the top, click All Devices, then select the iPhone you want to unlock. If you don't see the Security Lock screen, or if your iPhone is running iOS 15.1 or earlier, iCloud may be your best option for unlocking your iPhone. Conventional (n=97,844), shown in orange pentagons. The well categories shown in this map are as follows: We’ve done that here as well, although we have modified the dataset by separating three different well statuses and one group of well types that we think are of interest to our users. Such differences serve a good reminder that available data and realities in the field are not always the same thing.įracTracker, along with DEP, typically separate conventional and unconventional wells when mapping them. We don’t know whether these wells are conventional or unconventional, for one example, or whether the well is for production or waste injection, for another. Despite having five percent more wells in that inventory than the one we used, it is much less comprehensive in terms of associated data fields. PASDA has another dataset of wells that has even more locations, 220,015 in total as of January 11, 2022. The foundation for this map is a data layer called “Oil and Gas Locations – Conventional Unconventional,” which is published by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and made available on the Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access, also known as PASDA. There are some additional adjustments that could be made if this seems to be a widespread issue. To that end, please let me know if you are having difficulty loading the maps. In fact, I’m a bit concerned that this density may still be too much data for some computer systems to efficiently handle. This allows for a visual representation of the industry’s extent, while significantly reducing load times – by not drawing dot, on top of dot, on top of dot – until the user zooms in to a scale of 1:500,000, which is about the size of a county.īut there is still good news for those who enjoy looking at maps with thousands of dots on it, as the screenshot of the border between Armstrong County and Indiana County demonstrates. ![]() ![]() Because these factors can vary tremendously from person to person, it still makes sense to do everything that we can to minimize the effect of loading datasets as enormous as the full inventory of Pennsylvania wells.įor that reason, we continue to use “generalized” layers, which are formed by creating a buffer zone point facilities that display when users are zoomed out. Serving data is only a portion of the bottleneck with map performance when using large datasets – as all of this has to be funneled through the end user’s computer system, internet connection, and browser software. ![]() Previously, putting over a quarter-million points on a map resulted in very sluggish map performance, but we are taking advantage of improved data delivery capabilities from ArcGIS Online, which we’ve been using for our online mapping system since 2012. The fundamental difference is that conventional and unconventional wells are shown on the same map, with plugged wells also included. Although we’ve made many different maps to show the spread of the oil and gas industry across the Commonwealth over the years, this one is set up a little differently from the others. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Teleprompter premium for macWhile using the Teleprompter for Video app, you can add backgrounds to the video, record both in landscape and portrait without interfering with the teleprompter feature, and control the app with your Apple watch. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Hitman bodyguard 2![]() The idea is that he will use a super-strong drill to damage the underwater junction box that holds the data for the European Union’s computer systems, as a revenge for the EU beating up on his home country. They find themselves up against Greek supervillain Aristotle Papadopoulous, played by Antonio Banderas with such an uncompromising refusal to do a Greek accent that at first I thought it had to be some kind of gag. So the wacky trio are back together again, Reynolds getting whatever laugh lines there are going, as he is bemused and depressed by the situation that this couple have put him in, though not as bemused and depressed as all of us in the audience. Michael is stripped of his “licence” to practise bodyguarding and is now in therapy but just as he decides to take a restorative European break by the pool, Michael gets sucked right back into the melee by Kincaid’s badass wife Sonia, in which role Salma Hayek is once again phoning in her hellcat routine. Ryan Reynolds is back as Michael Bryce, the former triple-A rated bodyguard, now haunted and traumatised by his professional failures, and by his association with the notorious assassin Darius Kincaid, played by Samuel L Jackson. Anyway, here’s the sequel with the extra-clumsy double-possessive in the title. Bottom line? The reliable magic of Reynolds, Jackson, and Hayek keeps some fun intact, but this shoot-'em-up actioner is less of a blast than it could have been. Here’s the tiresome follow-up to the tiresome action comedy with the tiresomely (and unfunnily) muddled premise: bodyguards generally protect people against hitmen and hitmen generally don’t need bodyguards as they’re not publicly visible … but that wasn’t the point. ![]() Viewers go on a visual vacation as the threesome carries out their mission throughout glamorous European locales. Still, the mistakes are covered up by cool stunts, fast action, and take-me-there scenery. Plus, the script just isn't as good and can be hard to follow. Instead, he's positioned more as a puppy that they kick - and that's not necessarily funny. Now the Kincaids are teamed up against Bryce, so he's no longer the foil. Adding a third person into the mix knocks off the balance. What made the first film a hit (no pun intended) is what always elevates action buddy comedies: the banter and chemistry between two equal opposites forced to work together. We're back to "men don't cry," "men don't need mental health help," and "men shoot stuff up" - albeit with a 2021 twist: "so do women." And on that note, Sonia is just as violent and profane as the guys - but for her behavior, she's called "crazy," because her actions and words are more emotionally reactive. It's no surprise that the movie's dialogue references classic '80s action comedies, because The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is a regression to that era's problematic attitudes. Reynolds' character is now traumatized from his efforts to protect Kincaid, and his efforts to restore his mental health are made fun of throughout. The hits keep on coming, but the laughs are a bit weaker in this fun but uneven sequel - and so is Michael Bryce. To stay in the loop on more movies like this, you can sign up for weekly Family Movie Night emails. There's some drinking, a character is drugged for laughs, and cocaine is talked about as if using it is a rite of passage to being cool. The Kincaids are honeymooning and are actively trying to get pregnant no matter where they are, although nothing more than making out and an over-the-blouse fondle is actually shown. And while Sonia is just as violent and profane as the guys, she's called "crazy" because her actions and words are more emotionally reactive. Equating masculinity with brutality (e.g., "men don't cry" and "men shoot stuff up"), the movie makes Bryce's emotional fragility the butt of the joke. While the first film was about Kincaid helping Bryce realize that some matters are out of his control, the goal this time around is making Bryce less responsible and more comfortable with killing. The body count is sky-high, with constant gunfire, stabbings, graphic headshots (and other wounds), and physical fights. As in the original, profanity flies as frequently as bullets ("f-k" is in practically every sentence). Jackson (as high-level assassin Darius Kincaid), and Salma Hayek (as Kincaid's wife, Sonia). ![]() It re-teams Ryan Reynolds (as uptight, safety-first bodyguard Michael Bryce, who's still trying to regain his Triple-A certification), Samuel L. ![]() Parents need to know that the action comedy The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is the sequel to The Hitman's Bodyguard. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Purple doritos diseease![]() Students designed the projects to increase patient understanding of lifestyle choices and the management of chronic diseases that impact their health and the health of their children, using a variety of approachable mediums, from traditional brochures and posters to YouTube videos, a children's book, online articles and even a song. (After all, Tiger's internals alone can fill over 1,600 printed pages.) As in past reviews, I've chosen to delve deeply into the aspects of Leopard that are the most interesting to me while also trying to provide a reasonable overview for the non-geeks who've decided to take the plunge into an Ars Technica review. Like all other Mac OS X releases before it, Leopard is too big for one review to cover everything. This review will cover all of those angles, in varying degrees of depth. Somewhere in between lie the features themselves, judged not by the technology they're based on or the interface provided for them, but by what they can actually do for the user. These two views of Leopard, the interface and the internals, lead to two very different assessments. While the casual Mac user will gauge Leopard's worth by reading about the marquee features or watching a guided tour movie at Apple's web site, those of us with an unhealthy obsession with operating systems will be trolling through the internals to see what's really changed. And as I see it, operating system beauty is more than skin deep. Advertisementīut far be it from me to use Microsoft to calibrate my expectations. After all, as Apple's been so fond of touting, there have been five releases of Mac OS X in the time it's taken Microsoft to deliver Windows Vista. Eighteen months, two and a half years, who's counting? Maybe we enthusiasts are just getting greedy. Maybe the average Mac user just expects another incrementally improved version of Mac OS X. My state of mind leading up to the release of Leopard probably matches that of a lot of Mac enthusiasts: this better be good. ![]() Apple's tantalizingly explicit withholding of information about Leopard just fanned the flames. If I had high expectations for 10.5 back in 2005, they've only grown as the months and years have passed. Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has gestated longer than any release of Mac OS X (other than 10.0, that is). It seems that I've gotten my wish and then some. That was exactly two and a half years ago, to the day. If this is what Apple can do with 18 months of development time instead of 12, I tremble to think what they could do with a full two years. At the end of my Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger review, I wrote this. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Do not call register nc![]() This is important because you usually have to sue a company in the State and County that the company is based in. This is a bit hard, but generally, you want to get at least the state they're calling from. Location of the telemarketing company (state). In general, you want to sue the company doing the actual calling, but in the worst case, you can start by suing the company that paid for it and get them to give you the information of the company they hired to actually call you. Sometimes, the caller will work for a different company that is contracted by the main organization. You can be clever about this by saying something like " Oh that sounds like a great service, what's the name of your organization?" Name of the robocaller's company or organization.Getting the name of the person you're talking to can help you look up the company name on google or linkedin later. That's enough information to find the telemarketing company's registered agent online, which you can use to sue them in court. The most common way to figure out who to sue is to pick up the phone, ask them what company they're calling from, and where that company is based. How Do I Find the Name and Address of a Telemarketer Company to Sue Them? Method 1: Just ask them. If they don't, you can just sue them again. In addition, most of them will actually stop calling you. Most of these companies know they have broken the law and just want to move on. In fact, in most cases, a Dispute demand letter gets the company to mail back a check in less than two weeks, because they don't want to have to lose in court. This is important because it is required to have the legal information of the person you're suing in court, and you'll need it to collect the judgement.īUT if you can find that information, you can get paid very quickly. ![]() The harder part is to figure out the legal name and address of the company or person who is repeatedly calling you. Or even do it yourself if you have the patience to carefully fill out, print, mail, and file court forms. You can easily and affordably file in small claims court using an online service - it usually only takes 10 minutes. But in reality, every state in the country has a small claims court where ordinary people can go an explain their case to a judge without a lawyer. You might think it's hard to do a lawsuit, particularly if you've never done one before. How Hard is it to Sue a Telemarketer or Robocaller? The laws vary state to state, but as an example, California law allows a person who has received an "unsolicited" phone call to sue the caller in small claims court and win $1,000 civil penalty from the company in addition to an injunction. This includes automated / robocalls but also humans calling you repeatedly. Unsolicited calling is when a telemarketer calls you without your permission, particularly when they repeat this behavior repeatedly. Every time a company calls you after you register, they are liable to pay you up to $ 1,500 per call without limit on the number of calls! The best news: some states push the limit even higher. The process to do that and stop these calls is below. This kind of call is prohibited by a federal law called the TCPA, if you register yourself onto the Do-Not-Call registry. There are two different types of laws that protect you here: laws against automated calling and laws against unsolicited calling.Īutomated calling is when a person or company uses a machine (software or physical device) to automatically dial the digits for your number. The law gives you many legitimate reasons for suing someone who is calling you without your permission. This is why more and more people are starting to sue telemarketers who keep calling them. In fact, based on FCC statistics we estimate that 63% of all calls in the US are spam calls. The number of spam calls in the US is growing very, very fast.
